State Control (PSC) system, ensuring that ships entering Iraqi ports comply with safety requirements and international maritime standards.

According to an official statement, the application of the Port State Control system represents an important step in developing the maritime oversight system and ensuring ships' compliance with effective international agreements and rules, which enhances the safety of lives and property and preserves the marine environment.

The statement added that the field tour included following up on inspection procedures and their implementation mechanisms, verifying the readiness of ships and safety equipment and their compliance with international requirements, as well as following up on the conditions of

seafarers, working conditions, and procedures related to the protection of the marine environment.
