Iraq Moves Towards Advanced Digital Regulation and 5G Networks, Says Media Commission

The Executive Director of the Media and Communications Commission affirmed Iraq's commitment to building a modern digital system that keeps pace with global transformations, fosters innovation, protects users, and attracts investment. Speaking at the Global Symposium for ICT Regulators, he noted that Iraq is undergoing a pivotal phase in digital transformation amid rising demand for digital services. He stated that the commission has issued a regulatory framework for digital platforms that balances user protection with encouraging the digital economy. He stressed Iraq's dedication to activating fifth-generation (5G) networks with utmost effort, as a cornerstone for developing digital infrastructure and enabling innovative services, while preparing the necessary regulatory, technical, and investment requirements for their efficient launch.
