The Iraqi government has formed a joint supreme committee to manage negotiations with the Turkish side, aiming to conclude a new strategic agreement regulating the export of crude oil through Turkish territory, coinciding with the approaching expiration of the current

agreement. The committee includes representatives from the Ministries of Oil, Foreign Affairs, and Finance, as well as representatives from the Kurdistan Regional Government. The discussions seek to reach understandings that ensure the continuous and smooth flow of oil exports through

the Iraq-Turkey pipeline to global markets without any interruption or disruption. This file is considered one of the government's strategic priorities, especially since Iraq possesses a pipeline system with a design capacity of 1.6 million barrels per day connected to

the storage facilities at the Ceyhan port. Current plans aim to increase export rates from 200,000 barrels to over 350,000-400,000 barrels per day in the upcoming period to meet the needs of European markets and secure alternative export routes.
