rafidainscope - The Federal Intelligence and Investigation Agency announced the dismantling of a network involved in medicine adulteration and trademark counterfeiting, seizing hundreds of thousands of materials and tools used in manufacturing and packaging counterfeit preparations, in addition to arresting suspects in the capital, Baghdad.
The operation came following accurate intelligence information indicating the presence of a workshop specialized in repacking unfit materials and packaging them in containers bearing trademarks of well-known international companies before distributing them to markets and pharmacies.
Following the formation of an intelligence and technical task force and careful field surveillance, a qualitative operation was carried out resulting in cordoning off the site, seizing the confiscated items, packaging and counterfeiting equipment, and arresting the suspects who were referred to the judiciary to receive their fair punishment.
