The Border Ports Authority announced the thwarting of a customs manipulation attempt that would have resulted in a financial loss of over 40 million Iraqi dinars at the Al-Mundhiriya border crossing. Search and investigation units successfully intercepted two trucks loaded
with electrical cables that were falsely declared as "copper cables" to evade required tariffs. The auditing process exposed the fraud, leading to the referral of the suspects and the vehicles to the relevant judicial authorities. The Authority reaffirmed its commitment
to tightening regulatory measures to prevent smuggling and protect public funds.
