The General Authority of Customs announced the initiation of a comprehensive strategy to develop the oversight system at border crossings, based on high-level government directives. The plan includes implementing a functional rotation for staff working in customs centers to ensure
the exchange of expertise and elevate field performance, in accordance with competency standards and the actual needs of each site. The authority also revealed the formation of specialized technical teams to receive and operate modern scanning equipment (sonar) to enhance
inspection and auditing capabilities and tighten control over the movement of goods. The authority affirmed that these developmental measures fall within national efforts to support economic security, combat smuggling, and protect public funds through the adoption of the latest regulatory
technologies.
