A major Chinese shipping corporation has announced the resumption of cargo bookings and commercial maritime operations to Iraqi ports, specifically the Port of Umm Qasr, as well as other Gulf ports, following a period of temporary suspension.
This strategic operational decision helps stabilize local markets and prevents supply shortages, ensuring the uninterrupted flow of consumer goods and industrial raw materials into Iraq at competitive freight rates.
Despite the ongoing security concerns within regional shipping corridors and the Strait of Hormuz, the company affirmed its commitment to providing safe and stable supply lines to support the growing commercial activity between Beijing and Baghdad, as stated to Mada Al-Rafidain News.
