Larry Fink, CEO of the financial powerhouse BlackRock, offered unconventional advice in his annual letter, stating that the future of job stability lies in manual and skilled trades, which now outshine increasingly threatened administrative career paths.
Fink emphasized that the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence will soon eliminate millions of office jobs reliant on data processing and basic programming. Meanwhile, field roles such as plumbing, construction, and electrical work will remain immune to automation for long
periods, due to their requirement for complex human interaction with the physical environment.
He urged government administrations to reshape their educational policies to support vocational training. Fink warned of a looming global crisis characterized by a scarcity of skilled manual labor, juxtaposed with a massive surplus of graduates seeking office jobs that are rapidly disappearing.
