The MP for the Reconstruction and Development Bloc, Alia Nassif, indicated on Friday (May 15, 2026) the emergence of a "cross-sectarian political alliance" following the session to grant confidence to the new government in the House of Representatives. Nassif said
in a statement that what happened in the session represents a clear message of the birth of a cross-sectarian political alliance, bringing together promising political components capable of shaping the features of the political system for the coming period, confirming
that this alliance will be supportive of the government and its success. The House of Representatives had voted its approval in its session on Thursday to grant confidence to the government of Ali Al-Zaidi in the presence of the presidencies
and leaders of political forces.
