Prime Minister-designate Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi affirmed to former Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi, today, Saturday (May 9, 2026), the importance of cooperation and coordination to form a national government capable of facing challenges.
The media office of the Prime Minister stated in a statement that "Prime Minister-designate Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi met with former Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi, during which the meeting discussed the overall general conditions in the country, and deliberated on a number of issues related to the country's interests."
According to the statement, both sides affirmed "the necessity of coordination and cooperation to form an inclusive national government, capable of facing various challenges, and responsive to the requirements of the current stage, in a manner that enhances stability and serves the aspirations of citizens throughout Iraq."
